Dear Friends of Grants Pass Center for Spiritual Living,
First, let me announce that Rev. Cliff Custer has been unexpectedly
called out of town due to a death in the family. He will not
be able to speak this Sunday, April 18th, so I will be speaking
instead. My talk title will be, “God Called Me Out to Play
Today”. Due to the adjustment for this Sunday the following
Sunday, April 25th, Cheryl Long Riffle RScP will be speaking
instead of me. I truly do try to keep a regular schedule of
speakers and I apologize for the change. If you speak with
someone who is not on our email list, please notify them for
me. I’d appreciate it. I realize this is a last minute change.
Happy Spring! As we move into the season of nature’s reawakening,
it seems fitting that we focus on our own personal reawakening
as well, both individually and as a spiritual community.
For me personally, I find it a great time to ask myself, “How
is Spirit wanting to move through me?” What am I ready to
say “Yes” to and invite into my experience. The way for me
to answer that question is through my spiritual practice. As
I move into meditation, prayer and visioning daily I open
up to the new ways in which Spirit can move through me.
I’m so happy to see all the growth that our Center is experiencing. It’s
a joy to watch as people, both long time and relatively new
members are stepping into service in so many different ways.
Our classes are full and our services are buzzing. Recently,
a man who has attended Sunday service periodically complemented
us on being a Center that is open, loving and welcoming. I
feel that Spirit in our Center also and I feel grateful to
be a part of it all.
I’m looking forward to our Mother’s Day Tea and how the committee
has such a larger view in putting this event together. They’re
seeing it as the first of many Mother’s Day Teas and next
year opening it up to the general public. What an awesome
way to reach out to the grander community. Great idea! I compliment
our Mother’s Day Tea committee!
We’re still looking for members who have taken our “Foundations”
class or the equivalent and would like to sit on The Board
of Trustees. This is truly a wonderful way to get involved
with the workings of the Center. You get a first-hand look
at how we make decisions regarding how our Center runs. For
me, it has been a very positive experience.
As always, if there is an issue or concern that you would
like to have addressed, our Board meetings are always open.
I am always accessible through email and phone. Both are on
the back of the bulletin each week. I enjoy getting feedback
and it does impact the decisions I make about the Sunday services
and classes, so please feel free to give me your comments.
Thank you for all the comments I have received so far and
please know that I do hear you. Thanks for all you do to make
our Center the warm, welcoming and loving home it is.
In love and gratitude,
Rev. Michelle Ingalls
