Dear Friends of Grants Pass Center for Spiritual Living,
I used to think of summer as that lazy, easy, take your sweet
time and relax season. Not so this year. Seems as if we’ve
all hit the floor running, maybe this hot weather will serve
to slow us down a bit. I noticed several of us have been out
and about enjoying this sizzling season. And although I’ve
missed you, I’m sure you’re out enjoying life and the gifts
of the season; practicing the Presence in real life!
This Friday is a big event for GPCSL. We’re having a great
comic event. We’re hosting (thanks to Josiah Dean) an event
called “Wake Up Laughing” featuring the Cosmic Comic Swami
Beyondananda. I’m very much looking forward to this event,
which is next Friday, July 16th at 7:00. Please get your tickets
from Aquarius bookstore, GPCSL or on-line (go to our website
for details).
I’ve taken a bit of a break with classes this summer since
so many of us are traveling and doing all kinds of warm weather
activities. The Practitioners are meeting on August 11th to
discuss how the classes will look for this coming fall, winter
and spring. I’ll be sure to update everyone on the schedule. What
I do know is that I will be facilitating Prac II for our wonderful
Practitioners in training. I also know that in January I will
be facilitating the “Foundations” course. This course is a
prerequisite for the other certified courses for United Center
for Spiritual Living, the organization to which we belong.
We’ll be having our first Board of Trustees meeting with our
new Board members this Tuesday evening, July 13th at 6:00. We’ll
be deciding who will be filling each Board of Trustees position. I’m
looking forward to working with the new Board. I know that
each one has stepped into service with a sincere desire to
foster growth and success for GPCSL.
Rev. Helen Downey is facilitating the “Wise Women” class this
summer, along with her mid-week tune up on the first Wednesday
of each month. She will be in Hawaii on the first Wednesday
of September, so she won’t be doing the mid-week tune up that
month, but she’ll here for August.
All in all things are moving along well for GPCSL. We continue
to appreciate and honor all the many, many contributions that
our members make both financially and in time and service. I
will continue to serve as your minister in a part time capacity
for the next year, while holding the intention for a full
time position. Although, I must say I truly don’t look at
my position as part time, I just step in and do what needs
to be done with an open heart and an attitude of loving service. I
love ministry and I look forward to this new Board of Trustees
and the many ways in which our Center contributes to the whole
of Consciousness as we move forward to create a world that
works for everyone.
In loving gratitude, Rev. Michelle Ingalls
