Winter, 2019
|
December 21, 2019 is the Winter Solstice. It's time to slow down and sip tea by the fire, and become more reflective about our life and our past year. We are in one of the darkest periods of one of the darkest months of the year. All around us is darkness. And what do we do? We light a fire! Light a fire in our consciousness!
Most of us were afraid of the darkness as children. At night, anxieties can come bubbling up to the surface of our consciousness. Am I safe? Am I loved? Am I needed? Is there meaning in my life? Or is it all, ultimately, just a swirl of chaos and confusion? For some of us, much of the time, the darkness suggests our fears of instability in our life and the world. It can appear to reinforce a false sense that life is fleeting, random or just senseless. Physical darkness threatens to conjure a change in our mood and our feelings about our life. So, we look to the Light which represents the presence of God or Goddess Energy, the Christ Consciousness, Source Energy, Great Spirit, or whatever you choose to call IT! To me, the Light represents the power of Spirit and the belief that our visions of the future will come into manifestation, and into our world of form. This gives us the faith to carry us through the winters of our lives. Sometimes we may feel that all we can do in the middle of winter is pray, meditate and just trust that the light will return! The Winter Solstice is about remembering our belief in the Light, even when we might not see it! And, that includes our darkest moments. What this means is that ultimately, our task is not to just light candles, but to BE candles, BE the light we are seeking in the darkness. We have the potential to fully express as “unique individual candles of Spirit” that return Spirit’s illumination to a world that seems dark. So, in these times of winter darkness, become lighter, become brighter and filled with the optimism that seeks to manifest in this world of form, as only you can! Be The Light! ~Rev.
